A journey to Dürrenmatt
Experience the world(s) of the painting author by train
To Friedrich Dürrenmatt by train – that's no coincidence. He lived in Neuchâtel from 1952 but did not learn to drive until 1956. He travelled the Bern–Neuchâtel railway line many times and described it in detail. A train stop gave him the flash of inspiration for the "Old Lady"; the train as a symbol has a consistently great significance in text and image, in linguistic images and pictorial language.
Commented journey (only in German language) on the BLS train to the Centre Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel CDN, with Gusti Pollak (Dürrenmatt in theatre, cabaret and as a train driver). Guided tour of the museum, which shows Dürrenmatt's pictorial work in dialogue with his literary oeuvre (only in German language). Further stay at the Centre Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel CDN and return journey individually.
The price includes the commented accompaniment on the Bern–Neuchâtel train, the escort from Neuchâtel station to the Centre Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel, admission, and the guided tour there.
Please note: The return journey from Bern must be purchased separately and is not included in the price. End of the journey: Neuchâtel, Vallon de l'Ermitage (bus stop).
